Add items to a ticket

Add items to a ticket

The Order screen groups the menu into menu groups and, inside each group, menu sections. Finding an item is a matter of picking the right group, then the right section.

Steps

  1. Tap the Menu Group button, the leftmost button in the bottom panel. Its label is the name of the group currently selected.
  2. Pick a menu group from the list. The bottom panel refills with the sections in that group.
  3. Tap a section. The POS shows the items in it.
  4. Tap an item to add it. If the item has no modifiers it goes straight onto the ticket. If it does, the POS opens the modifier screen. See Add modifiers, seat numbers and quantities.

Reading the ticket panel

The ticket builds on the right side of the screen with a running subtotal. Text colour tells you what has fired:

  • Blue text — ordered but not yet sent to the kitchen printers.
  • Black text — already sent.
  • Red text — the ticket has been refunded.

Items shown in red on the menu

An item whose stock count is set to zero is out of stock. It shows in red and neither staff nor online guests can order it. See Manage item stock and mark an item out of stock.
