Best Practices for Maintaining & Setting Up Ipads

 

  1. Update iOS (the iPads Operating System)

    1. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.

    2. Tap Download and Install.

  2. Update or Download "Heartland Restaurant" App

    1. Open the App Store.

    2. Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen.

    3. Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app, or tap Update All.

  3. Settings - Wi-Fi:

    1. Tap Blue Information button next to active Wi-Fi → Private Address → Toggle Off

    2. Tap Wi-Fi on the top to get back

    3. Scroll down → Ask to Join Networks → tap Off

    4. Tap Wi-Fi on the top to get back

    5. Auto-Join Hotspot → tap Never

  4. Settings - Privacy: Location Services → Toggle On

  5. Settings - Restaurant: 

    1. Bluetooth → Toggle On

    2. Local Network → Toggle On

    3. Location → 

      1. While Using the App → Precise Location → Toggle On

      2. If Location does not show up → Launch Heartland Restaurant App → tap Use Location while using 

  6. Settings - General: Software Update → Automatic Updates → 

    1. Download iPadOS Updates → Toggle Off

    2. Install iPadOS Updates → Toggle Off

  7. Settings - App Store: Automatic Downloads → 

    1. Apps → Toggle Off

    2. App Updates → Toggle Off

  8. Use “Guided Access” to lock down the Heartland Restaurant app:

    1. To enable Guided Access:

      1. Settings → General → Accessibility → Guided Access.

    2. Turn on Guided Access.

      1. Tap Passcode Settings, then tap Set Guided Access Passcode.

      2. Enter passcode: 000000 → then re-enter it.

    3. To start Guided Access:

      1. Open the app that you want, then triple-click the Home or Power button.

      2. Tap Start. 

    4. To end Guided Access:

      1. Triple-click the Home or Power button, and then enter your Guided Access passcode.
