The customer facing display is powered and driven by the NextGen terminal over a single USB-C cable.
Steps
- Turn the CFD over and unspool its power cable. It ends in a USB-C connector.
- On the back of the NextGen device, slide the back panel off.
- Find the USB-C port labelled CFD.
- Plug the CFD cable into that port.
- Replace the back panel, threading the cable out through the access hole.
- Power on the NextGen device and log in to the POS.
When you log in, the CFD shows a smaller version of the POS screen. That is how you know it is working.
Two cautions
- Do not cut the blue or black pull tabs off the USB-C cables. They are there so you can get leverage to pull the cable back out of the ELO housing later. Without them, removal means dismantling more than you want to.
- A Verifone T650 cannot run alongside a CFD or PAX on the same terminal. Choose one.
If the CFD stays blank or looks wrong
Set the screen density before signing in to the Genius app. See Set the XC23 screen density to 160 DPI. A wrong density is the usual cause of a CFD that displays but looks broken.
