Connect the receipt printer

Connect the receipt printer

The receipt printer connects to the terminal over USB and needs its own power.

Steps

  1. Facing the back of the printer, turn it upside down.
  2. Underneath, along the back edge, find the ports: Ethernet, USB-B, USB-A and the power connector.
  3. Take the data cable. One end is USB-B, the other USB-A.
  4. Plug the USB-B end into the printer USB-B port.
  5. Plug the power cable into the AC port.
  6. Thread both cables out through one of the access holes in the casing.
  7. Turn the printer the right way up. Push back the right hand lever on the top and open the paper feed.
  8. Drop in the paper roll, unrolling from the bottom out over the front.
  9. Close the paper lid until it snaps shut.
  10. Flip the power switch.

Then associate it

Log in to the POS and add the printer to a printer template. Until you do, the device has no default register printer, which means no guest checks and no cash drawer. See Set a printer template on a device.

If it does not print

  • Check the paper is loaded the right way round. Thermal paper only prints on one side.
  • Send a test print from the printer tile on the printer template screen.
  • Open Printer Queue on the Room screen and read the reported status.
