The password to enter DDTools is 9899. The tool will first check for data. If it cannot find data it will request the name of the data folder which it will save for further uses.

  1. Site Survey Tool: All surveys saved in Setups\DDTools\Survey
    1. Smart Survey: Checks the network for any terminals which share the same username and password then creates a list of machines and systeminfo.
    2. Survey pos1-pos15: Checks against the standards names of pos1-pos15 for systeminfo. To be used on older machines without certain windows hooks.
       
  2. Prepare For Update: 
    • Creates Backup in Setups\DDTools\Backup
    • Removes current CDROM/CDROM1 folders
    • Removes DDTemp Files
    • Once this function has run use the restart tool to initiate update.
       
  3. Create Backup: 
    1. Main Data Backup: Backs up main data files to Setups\DDTools\Backup
    2. Full Backup: Creates a full backup to Setups\DDTools\Backup
       
  4. Restart Tool:
    1. Restart Services: S4, License, Credit Cards, etc. Replaces all LA/PL daily files (and makes a backup). Replaces prnjob_c, check locks, etc.
    2. Restart Terminals: Scans network for terminals and reboots them (not current machine)
    3. Restart Services and terminals: Restarts everything (not current machine)
       
  5. Full Repair:
    • Kills all services
    • Backs up main data
    • Backs up INI Files
    • Copies all DLL files from cdrom to current application directory
    • Replaces _WK files
    • Replaces PRNJOB files
    • Replaces ck_lok_c files
    • replaces all .cdx files
    • clears all ddtemp files
    • refreshes PL and LA daily files
    • disables remote connections temporarily
    • Initiates repair with the ability to manually introduce DDutils repair for the versions which have the bug that does not allow command line repairs
      1. With srvmsg_c replacement: Replaces srvmsg_c. Can cause data loss! Do not use unless 100% necessary.
      2. Without srvmsg_c replacement
    • BEWARE: You must monitor to make sure the repair goes through. If something happens that makes the repair fail you need to choose the appropriate option or you will start the system with new cdx and no re-index which will blow up everything.
