How to install new POS station for Digital Dining

Install New POS Station

  • Connect all cables: Plug in the power cable to the base of the terminal along with metal piece with screw to hold cable in place. Connect the printer cable to COM2 and plug the Ethernet cable into LAN1.

  • Power On: Push the power button located inside the trap door on the left side of the screen.

  • Change computer name: Go to Start, Control Panel, System, Change Settings, & Change. Change the computer name to what the corresponding number is in DD (i.e. POS1 or POS2). Once finished label the computer with a label maker.

  • Install DD: On the Desktop go to Network, DDSERVER, Digital Dining, Data, CDROM, and run the Setup program. Click RUN as it pops up twice then click Next until it ask you for an installation type. Choose Typical POS and then Install. When done hit Finish and then choose Restart Later.

  • Share DD directory: On the desktop go to Computer, C Drive, Program Files (x86), highlight Digital Dining, click on Organize in the top bar and choose Properties. Go to the Sharing tab, click Advanced Sharing, check the box for Share this Folder, click Permissions, check the box under the “Allow” column for Full Contol, then click OK, OK, and Close.

  • Setup DD Start: On the desktop go to Computer, C Drive, Program Files (x86), Digital Dining, Applications, and double click DD Start. When it ask for a Data Path click Browse, go to network, select DDSERVER, Digital Dining, Data, and click Open. When the Data Path turns green click OK. It will then ask for a Print Server Location where you need to choose the corresponding number to the pos (i.e. POS1 = Print1) and click on. Then when DD Start pops up check the box for Print Server, making sure the box for POS is checked as well (print server and pos should be the only two checked) and click Save.

  • Reboot the station: Go to Start and click Restart.

  • Change POS settings: After the station reboots it will as for a series of settings. On the first prompt choose Register, on the second choose the corresponding POS number (i.e. POS1, POS2, etc...), and on the last prompt choose 3d Colors with Pics. Click Exit Register then Change Settings and enter the following settings.

  • Credit Card Verification Mode = PAYMENT

  • Help Button = NO

  • Print C&C Check = NO

  • Gift Card Verification Mode = PAYMENT

  • Prep C&C Check Before Payment = NO

  • Click Style = Click on Touch

  • Display Line Percent Spacing = 40

  • Print Check on New Tab = NO (Optional depending on site)

    When finish click Accept and then choose Restart POS.
