Manager Settings menu reference

Manager Settings menu reference

Manager Settings holds the settings that live on the device itself, as opposed to the Admin Portal settings that apply to the whole location.

Open it

On the Room screen, tap Options, then tap Settings.

The menu

  • Info — read only detail about this device, its network and its software versions.
  • General — device name, waitlist, training mode, guest count prompt, excluded rooms, language, tab room sort and auto logout.
  • Printers — the default register printer and printer templates for this device.
  • Payment Terminals — pair this device with a card reader.
  • Item Stock Management — edit stock counts and mark items out of stock.
  • Tablets — the ticket prefix for this device.
  • Time Punch Management — edit or delete clock in and clock out records.
  • Logs — device logs for troubleshooting.
  • Daily Review — the end of day screen.
  • System Logout — signs the device out of the account. See Log out versus System Logout.

The General screen settings in detail

  • Device Name — name this device something a human recognises. It is what shows in the Authorized Devices screen and in support conversations.
  • Waitlist — makes the wait list visible in Table Layout screens.
  • Training Mode — see Turn on training mode.
  • Verify Guest Count on Save — prompts servers for a guest count when saving a new ticket without one.
  • Device Excluded Rooms — rooms selected here cannot be opened or ticketed from this device. Use it to keep a bar terminal out of the dining room.
  • Language — sets the language of POS labels and text.
  • Tab Room Ticket Sort — newest first, oldest first, alphabetical by guest name, or alphabetical by credit or debit card name.
  • Auto Logout — 30 seconds, 1, 2, 5, 10 minutes or 1 hour of idle time before the POS logs itself out.

A note on Auto Logout. Short is safer. A terminal left signed in is a terminal anyone can ring on. Thirty seconds suits a busy service bar; five minutes suits a slow dining room where servers are away from the station.
