Setting up Upsell Profiles & Upsell Groups for Online Ordering

Upsell Profiles allow you to suggest items to your customers based upon what they did not order. In this example we will be suggesting dessert to a customer who failed to add anything from the dessert section to their cart.

Keep in mind that any items that you want to suggest must be available to order online and in the same group that the customer is ordering from. You cannot cross group suggest. Each group has its own profile associated and it will only suggest from items within that group.
  1. Go to Account Menu > Upsell Profiles. For this process you can work based on sections, tags or specific items. In this example we will use sections.



  2. Once your Upsell profile is made go to Account Menu > Upsell Groups. Create a new Group. You can add one or more Profiles to this group. You can prompt for both Drinks & Desserts for example.



  3. Now that you have created your Profiles & Groups you need to associate them with your online ordering or order from table. Go to Location setup > Online Ordering. Select the Online Ordering tab from the top and scroll down the type of ordering you intend to add the group to. In this example we will add the Dessert Group to carryout. Remember each Menu Group must be associated with an Upsell Group for it to work.



    4. Finally this is the view your customer will get when they fail to order a dessert. If they choose to select Dessert they will be sent to your dessert section.
