Unifi OS Settings

Applications

1. Update to the latest OS
   
   
2. Set up automatic updates for 4AM daily
   
   
3. Remove unnecessary apps
   
   
   

Console settings

1. Set Console name to the name of the business
   
   

Network Setup

Unifi Devices

1. Adopt any access points in use
   
2. Update all access points

Settings > Wifi

1. Make sure there are no devices are in AP exclusions
   
   
2. If you are not using meshing disable wireless meshing
   
3. Make sure no devices are selected in AP exclusions of nightly optimization.
   

Settings > Wifi > Wifi

1. Set the SSID name to something that makes sense for the site -POS. For example John's BBQ might have JBBQ-POS
   
2. Set password using a password generator. 
   

Settings > Networks > Default

1. Turn off Auto-Scale Network
   
2. Verify host address
   
3. Verify DHCP range
   

Our most common settings are:

Host address: 192.168.7.1

DHCP range 192.168.7.100 - 192.168.7.199

Settings > Networks > Teleport & VPN

1. Disable Teleport unless it will be used actively
   

Settings > System

1. Ensure Automate Device updates is active Daily at 4am.
   
   
2. Ensure Auto Backups are enabled
