🔌 Connectivity & App Requirements

  • Your main terminal must remain online and inside the Genius app at all times. Minimizing the app or losing internet connection may cause orders to cancel automatically.

Notes
iPads only: We recommend that if using an iPad you use guided access mode. It can be enabled in iPad settings > Accessibility > Guided Access. It will allow you to set a password to lock down the iPad so that nobody can exit the app. 

🛠️ Menu & Pricing Management

  • DO NOT call DoorDash for help with menu, schedule or pricing changes this can result in your integration being disconnected. 
  • All menu, schedule and pricing changes must be made in the Genius portal.
  • 86 list items are transferred to DoorDash. However, there can be a delay. To avoid this we recommend publishing after every addition to the 86 list.
Notes
To avoid cancellations we recommend doing a publish after every item added to the 86 list.

 🛠️ Managing Your DoorDash Setup in Genius

  • You can adjust your:
    • Price increase percentage
    • Menu groups available
    • Operating hours

  • ➡️ Do this anytime via:
    Heartland Restaurants Web Portal → Location Setup → Online Ordering → Online Ordering Tab → Third Party Ordering

📅 Scheduling & Closures

  • To close your DoorDash store for specific days, you must contact DoorDash support directly to request a temporary closure.
  • There is no self-service option for holiday or special closures within Heartland.

💸 Refunds & Order Issues

  • All refunds must be processed directly through DoorDash, following their usual refund process.
  • Monitor for customer issues and respond promptly via the DoorDash Merchant Portal.
