Prepare artwork and video for menu boards

Great-looking boards start with the right files. Use this guide when you send us new artwork, or when you upload it yourself in the Genius Portal.

The short version: 1920 x 1080 (or 1080 x 1920 for portrait), PNG or JPEG under 30 MB, MP4 video under 100 MB, and no prices baked into the artwork. Prices are added live from Genius so they never go out of date.

What to send us

  • Clean base images with no price points or currency symbols on them
  • A rough mockup showing where prices and item names should sit. A phone photo of a sketch is fine.
  • Working files if you have them: Photoshop (PSD), Illustrator (AI), InDesign (INDD) or After Effects (AEP), packaged with their fonts and linked images
  • Your brand fonts as TTF or OTF files

Layered working files are best. They let us change one item or price area without asking your designer to re-export the whole board.

Screen sizes

Content is built at 1080p regardless of how big the TV is. Match your artwork to how much of the screen it fills. Sizes other than 16:9 are for artwork you send us; images you upload yourself in the Genius editor must be 16:9.

Video tips

  • Export as H.264 MP4 at 30 frames per second, constant frame rate, about 5 Mbps.
  • Minimum quality is 1280 x 720 at 24 frames per second.
  • Trim videos to whole seconds (12 s, not 12.4 s). Fractions of a second make screens drift out of sync.
  • Transparent-background (alpha) video is not supported.
  • Keep it to two videos per screen or fewer. The TVs run the app on a built-in chip with limited video capacity.
  • For the customer-facing display on an XC-23 register, convert video to WebM (VP9).
Fonts and licensing: only send fonts you are licensed to use on digital signage. Global Payments and POS Specialists are not responsible for font copyright.
